Sichuan Bistro is a chinese restaurant in Newark, California. It is listed at 5492 Central Ave, Newark, CA 94560, which places it among the local businesses of Newark that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Newark; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–2:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (510) 565-1042. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, sichuanbistroca.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 51 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Newark and suggests consistent service.
Newark is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Newark follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Food is very fresh, not precooked. Recommend the beef soup and taro chicken.

Beef soup was tasty. Service was excellent. 毛血旺 was the good kind of spicy with rice(also lots bean sprouts if you love them). Plenty of eggs for three people in 农家一碗香. Beef was the best.

Worst dining experience ever. Want to eat 1 dish at a time and still not have all your food (3 dishes + rice) in 1 hour? Also, the restaurant only had 6 tables (no more than 20 people) at that time (~30% capacity). We only had 2 people on our table and came on a Tuesday evening (6pm, order placed 6:20). Ordered cauliflower, pork face meat with cucumber, white rice, chongqing spicy chicken wings. cucumber dish came out, finished that, waited awhile and white rice came, waited awhile longer and the chicken wings came. The waitress took the chicken wing dish and asked every other table whether this was their order before finally getting it to our table. (Luckily we are the only ones who ordered it otherwise those tables that came after us would've gotten the dish first). 1 hour after we placed our order, we didn't get our cauliflower dish yet. We saw another table that came in 15-20 minutes after we placed our order get their cauliflower dish before us. We canceled the cauliflower, paid and left (left 7:30). Many other tables were basically all eating just 1 dish at a time. If they're lucky, they might have 2 dishes. Never had a waitress come multiple times to ask what is still miss

At the time of this review, the restaurant is still in its soft-opening phase. The service was very welcoming, and it’s clear that they are working hard to establish themselves as another good option for Sichuan cuisine in an area with quite a bit of competition, including Ping’s Bistro, Little Sichuan, Shang Cafe, and others. We tried Leshan Beef Soup, Lotus Leaf Wrapped Zhang Tea Duck, and Pan-Fried Garlic Yellow Croaker. Overall, they were enjoyable, although I think there is still some room for improvement compared with the high standards set by places like Ping’s Bistro and Shang Cafe. Since they are still in the soft-opening stage, hopefully the dishes will continue to improve as the kitchen settles in. One of their biggest advantages, in my opinion, is the pricing. The prices are quite reasonable, making this a very cost-effective alternative to some of the more established Sichuan restaurants in the area. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, especially considering that they have just opened. I certainly hope they succeed and continue refining their dishes. I would recommend giving them a try and deciding for yourself.
